ANNOUNCEMENTS


 

·         District Conference is May 15-17 here in Appleton at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel.  Please visit the website at http://www.ridistrict6220.org/ to register. Our numbers are still low and we would LOVE to show our support to Rotary at this conference.

·         The Family of Rotary Committee invites you and your family to join us at the Timber Rattlers Stadium on Thursday, May 14th for an evening of baseball, food and family fun.  The pre-game tailgate picnic is 5:30-7pm with game time at 7:05 p.m.  For only $12 per person you get a reserved seat and a great picnic dinner.  Bring your own beverages. Please report to the tailgate area outside the stadium on the third base side. Dinner & tickets will be ready for you when you arrive. Pay for tickets at the game. Reservations are required as we have 50 tickets available.  Sign up by Friday, May 8th at club meetings on Apr. 28th or May 5th or by emailing Meghan at rotaryappleton@gmail.com

·         Bimal Rajbhandari, Rotaract student from Lawrence University, is raising money for the earthquake victims in Nepal, his home.  Please follow him on his Facebook page if you are interested in helping. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nepal-Relief/1431020890533768

·         On May 12th the Service Above Self Committee has a volunteer opportunity for the Old Glory Honor Flight. They need volunteers to sort the mail for the 90 WWII and Korean Vets.  On May 14th there will be a parade to show support to the Veterans as they arrive back in Appleton between 7:30-8.  Please come to show your support.  The committee needs volunteers to help with the take down of the event.  I am attaching the link for further information regarding this event: http://www.oldgloryhonorflight.org/.  If you are interested in volunteering please email Nancy Leipzig at nancy.leipzig@communitycareinc.org.

·         Thursday, May 7th – National Day of Prayer – on the beautiful Trestle Trail Bridge in Menasha.  Hands will be joined at 5:30 and have 15 minutes of prayer for our Nation, leaders, community and for the families of the senseless tragedy that took place Sunday evening.
Following prayer let’s all share a meal together at Fritse Park, West side of the bridge. Bring a lawn chair and something to pass. Things to bring…Hot dogs – buns Ketchup – Mustard Potato Salad – Chips or Some yummy dessert!
All let overs will go to local food pantries.

·         John Trantow, Terri Trantow’s husband, has recently passed away.  Our condolences to the family.
